In Evidence: 37

A Red Shuttleworth Painting
Unrelated to the Poem

In Evidence: 37

Bright noon sunlight, December-frozen ground:
you winter-walk scab rock, sparse bunch grass,
unafraid of rattlesnakes, wary of daylight coyotes.
You croak a sixties tune, Everybody's talkin'.
You're carcass-alone in cerulean silence.
