Child-cry of swine on Market Day,
all-night Guinness-full revelers...
a lumpy bed-'n-breakfast bed for you.

When the fever rises up your spine,
you return to a room on a three-pubs street,
glad-thank Mrs. Breen (perhaps her name).

Everything is changed now, she says,
proprietress, smiling bearer of aspirin
and tea, collector of American stamps.

It's the middle of touristy June.
Be clever, Yank, and sweat it out.
She heavens you with five blankets,
