Red Shuttleworth, a three-time Spur Award recipient for poetry, received the 2016 Western Heritage (Wrangler) Award for Outstanding Poetry Book for his Woe to the Land Shadowing.



Named by True West magazine in 2007 as "Best Living Western Poet," In the past half-century, Red Shuttleworth  has published poetry, fiction, drama, literary criticism, and ephemeral prose in such journals as Alaska Quarterly Review, Artforum, Foreign Affairs, Ontario Review, Poetry Now, Prairie Schooner, Roundup, South Dakota Review, Southwest Review, and Zone 3.
