The Visit
a prose poem chapbook
Red Shuttleworth
The Visit is a prose poem adapted from Red Shuttleworth's in-progress Hawk Season Notebook #95. It is published as a limited edition chapbook by Bunchgrass Press.
In 1950, Red's maternal grandfather, Serge Odnovalenko, brought him along on a visit to a man who had been a colonel in the White Army in Russia after the Revolution. That long ago San Francisco morning, as reflected by dreams and flawed memory, is the basis for the prose poem / short-short story contained in the chapbook, The Visit.
